- Knowledge of proper storage and handling techniques for lubricants.
- Knowledge of power transmission component types, terminology, operation, and maintenance.
- Knowledge of plumbing and piping conveyance system types, terminology, operation, and maintenance.
- Knowledge of precision alignment techniques for indirectly coupled elements, including laser alignment.
- Knowledge of basic troubleshooting of mechanical systems.
- Knowledge of common-cause failure modes and correction of mechanical systems.
- Execute assigned tasks and duties with a focus on safe work practices and high-quality, precision work supporting customer service.
- Adhere to standards and best-practice applications acquired through training and work experience.
- Learn and grow knowledge of maintenance practices and equipment performance, including their impact on manufacturing processes and business objectives.
- Provide feedback on job assignment needs and improvement opportunities to peers and leadership.
- Maintain power transmission components, including bearings, pulleys or sheaves, shafts or rollers, couplings, sprockets, chains, belts, motors, and gearboxes.
- Maintain conveyance systems related to products and processes, as well as utility systems involving steam, water, air, and electricity, including pumps and piping.
- Maintain mechanical control systems, including related hydraulic and pneumatic elements.
- Troubleshoot and repair equipment causing or contributing to safety, quality, downtime, or productivity issues.
- Communicate findings, identify potential causes, and communicate correction steps to operations and maintenance leadership.
- Execute preventive maintenance plans, including inspecting and measuring equipment components, replacing components on predefined schedules, and lubricating equipment.
- Execute predictive maintenance activities, including inspection and measurement with data collection using predictive-maintenance tools related to equipment performance.
- Execute condition-based maintenance, including repairing and replacing components identified through preventive and predictive maintenance activities according to detailed job plans.
- Execute assigned or scheduled work orders supporting projects and process-improvement efforts identified as critical to business objectives.
- Assist Reliability Technicians A and Leads with installing and removing general mechanical systems.
