  • Experience with object-oriented languages and design such as Java
  • Experience writing APIs and interacting with relational databases (Postgres)
  • Knowledge of database query language such as SQL
  • Experience working with cloud providers such as AWS is beneficial
  • Experience writing tests and documenting code for a variety of audiences
  • An innate passion for approaching large-scale problems through small, data-informed, and experiment-driven iterations
  • You thrive in a fast-paced and data-driven environment
  • Willingness to be both a team player and an owner
Responsibilities
  • Help execute WHOOP's vision to build/scale our business logistics world wide
  • Contribute to backend development: Java, AWS and Postgres
  • Contribute to new feature ideation, planning, and development
  • Translate feature requirements into actionable tasks with risks identified
  • Interface with critical business systems: Netsuite, Salesforce, Stripe, Boomi, and more.
  • Work collaboratively in a high growth environment with a product minded approach
  • Consistently deliver features and code with an iterative approach

WHOOP offers a fitness membership that focuses on improving personal health and performance through data-driven insights. Its main product, the WHOOP Strap 3.0, is a wearable device that continuously tracks physiological data such as heart rate, sleep patterns, and recovery levels. This data is analyzed to provide users with personalized recommendations on how much to exert themselves, how much sleep they need, and their overall readiness for physical activity. Unlike many competitors, WHOOP operates on a subscription model, where users pay a fee to access the membership that includes the device and the WHOOP app. This app not only provides insights but also fosters community engagement through teams, challenges, and social features.
