NDI is first Netgear Professional Services ecosystem partner.

NDI is first Netgear Professional Services ecosystem partner. Netgear switches have been NDI certified for years but under a new agreement Netgear can scope and sell NDI workflow services through the same two-tier channel partners already use. Netgear has extended its Professional Services programme beyond the network layer to cover AV-over-IP workflows, with NDI as the first ecosystem partner. Netgear switches have been NDI certified for years, with dedicated pre-configured profiles for NDI, but the services wrapped around them stopped at the network layer. Under the new agreement, Netgear can scope and sell NDI workflow services through the same two-tier channel that partners already use. The work is delivered as project-based Professional Services, tailored to each engagement, and is separate from the Netgear Premium Support tiers. For customers, it means that both the network and workflow design come from a single provider (or source). This addresses a familiar challenge in AV-over-IP: deployments often start small and scale quickly, growing from a handful of channels in a meeting room or studio to dozens or hundreds of endpoints across a campus. As complexity increases, problems often emerge with the cause not necessarily sitting neatly within either the workflow or the network. It can therefore lie in how the two interact, making responsibility difficult to determine when something goes wrong. Massimo Mazzeo, vice-president of global systems engineering, customer support and services at Netgear Enterprise, said: "AV Interactive launched Professional Services at the network layer, and this partnership with NDI extends that same programme to what runs on top of the network. "For our customers, the scope now covers the NDI workflow as well, so the expertise for the network and the expertise for the production layer come from the same place."

Netgear unveils new security gateway with cloud protection for small businesses.

Netgear unveils new security gateway with cloud protection for small businesses. Dominic Bayley | 19 Oct 2026 Netgear has unveiled the PR30SG, a new dual-WAN security gateway designed to simplify network management and cybersecurity for small and medium-sized businesses, branch offices and managed service providers (MSPs). The new gateway combines network connectivity and cloud-based security management into a single platform, allowing businesses to oversee their networking infrastructure and security services without relying on multiple systems. Managed through Netgear Insight, the PR30SG expands the company's cloud management capabilities beyond switches and wireless access points to include network security. Each gateway comes with a one-year subscription to Netgear Exium cloud security, providing access to features including web filtering, intrusion detection and network access controls. The integrated approach is intended to make enterprise-grade security more accessible to organisations with limited IT resources, reducing the complexity and expense of deploying and maintaining separate security solutions. "Lean IT teams and branch offices have usually had to choose between an inexpensive router and a security stack they don't have the budget or staff to run," said Iphie Chen, Director of Product Management Enterprise at Netgear. "The PR30SG gives them cloud-delivered security, managed in Insight alongside their switches and access points." The PR30SG also supports zero-touch provisioning, enabling IT administrators and service providers to configure and deploy gateways remotely without requiring technicians to visit individual locations. For MSPs managing multiple business customers, Netgear Insight provides multi-tenant management capabilities, allowing several networks to be monitored and administered through a centralised dashboard. The platform also integrates with popular IT management tools, including ConnectWise, NinjaRMM, Datto and Autotask, helping service providers incorporate network management into their existing workflows. On the connectivity front, the PR30SG features dual-WAN support with automatic failover and load balancing, designed to help businesses maintain network availability if one internet connection becomes unavailable. A dedicated 2.5Gbps WAN port provides high-speed connectivity, while integrated support for WireGuard, OpenVPN and IPSec VPN protocols enables secure remote access and site-to-site connections. Netgear has also equipped the gateway with a fanless design for quiet operation, alongside NDAA-compliant hardware intended to meet procurement requirements in certain business and government environments. Existing Netgear PR60X gateway customers will also be able to access the company's cloud security capabilities through a separate licence, allowing them to add protection without upgrading their existing hardware. The Netgear PR30SG is scheduled to become available across the Asia-Pacific region from November 5, 2026. The device has an official MSRP of US$349.99 in the US, however official Australian retail pricing has not yet been detailed. Each unit includes 90 days of complimentary round-the-clock telephone support, limited lifetime 24/7 online chat assistance and a limited lifetime hardware warranty. Businesses requiring additional technical assistance can also purchase Netgear's optional Overdrive support plan, which provides a two-hour response service-level agreement.

NETGEAR Armor adds Dark Web Monitoring to alert households to exposed personal data.

NETGEAR Armor adds Dark Web Monitoring to alert households to exposed personal data. NETGEAR has introduced Dark Web Monitoring to its Armor and Armor Plus security services, designed to alert households when their personal information is discovered on the dark web or in known data breaches. Launched during Cybersecurity Awareness Month, the new feature is powered by Bitdefender and monitors for information including email addresses, phone numbers, financial details and National Insurance numbers. According to NETGEAR, personal information can be exposed through breaches involving retailers, email providers and other online services, sometimes without users being aware that their data has been compromised. This can leave individuals more vulnerable to phishing, account takeover attempts and identity-related fraud. When exposed information is detected, Dark Web Monitoring provides an alert explaining what has been found and where it appeared. Users are also given recommended actions, such as changing compromised or reused passwords and enabling multi-factor authentication. The feature includes an Identity Protection Score, intended to give households an overview of their exposure and allow them to track improvements as recommended security measures are completed. Dark Web Monitoring joins the existing security features offered through NETGEAR Armor, which provides protection for up to 50 devices at home and while away from the home network. Existing capabilities include malware protection, AI-powered anomaly detection, exploit prevention and intrusion detection, DDoS and brute-force protection, plus a VPN with ad blocking and anti-tracking features. Jonathan Oakes, Senior Vice President and General Manager of NETGEAR's Home Networking Division, says, "Most people think about network security as something that happens within their home. But your details can end up exposed somewhere else entirely, in a breach at a company you've never even dealt with directly. Dark Web Monitoring means finding out while there's still time to act." Dark Web Monitoring is available now as part of NETGEAR Armor and Armor Plus, with both services purchased and managed through the Orbi or Nighthawk app.

Leaked HMD Pocket Link could share 5G across multiple devices.

Leaked HMD Pocket Link could share 5G across multiple devices. HMD Aura 2 Pro HMD is preparing to expand its hardware portfolio beyond smartphones, with new leaks revealing an upcoming 5G portable Wi-Fi hotspot dubbed the HMD Pocket Link. According to details shared by industry tipster @smashx_60 on X, the compact device is designed to convert a nano-SIM cellular connection into a shared Wi-Fi 5 network, allowing remote workers and travelers to easily connect laptops, tablets, and other devices on the go. The Pocket Link features a 1.77-inch color LCD screen that displays essential network metrics, including signal strength, remaining battery life, active data consumption, and the current number of connected devices. Under the hood, it is powered by the Unisoc T157. While this octa-core 5G processor is typically utilized in entry-level feature phones, it prioritizes energy-efficient connectivity - a logical hardware choice for a battery-dependent hotspot. Discover more Mobile phone accessories Nokia phone reviews Nokia phone cases The device relies on a 3,000 mAh battery that charges via USB-C. The leak also indicates the inclusion of a proprietary "Save Data+" mode, though the exact mechanics of this data-optimization feature remain unspecified. The emergence of the Pocket Link aligns with recent rumors that HMD is actively developing a broader ecosystem of branded mobile accessories, including Qi2-compatible power banks. If brought to market, the 5G hotspot will position HMD as a new competitor against established networking brands like Netgear and TP-Link in the portable connectivity sector.

Small in profile, big on sound: Systematik brings the K-array Experience to Singapore.

Small in profile, big on sound: Systematik brings the K-array Experience to Singapore. Slim loudspeakers, room-filling sound and a focus on design took centre stage at Systematik Distribution's first K-array Experience event in Singapore on 28 September. Held at The Blackbird, the gathering brought together architects, systems integrators and consultants to explore how K-array's audio solutions combine acoustic performance with discreet integration into a space. Edwin Ng and Christopher Chua from Systematik Distribution took to the stage to welcome guests, encouraging them to experience the demonstrations, ask questions, network and enjoy the evening. Paolo Capponi, Project Support Specialist and Application Engineer at K-array's headquarters, then opened his presentation with the story behind the company, sharing the founders' motivations and tracing its 30 years of innovation. His presentation explored acoustic principles and K-array's Pure Array technology, connecting the technical concepts with practical design considerations for the architects and other non-technical guests. For the AV professionals, he also highlighted how K-array solutions can integrate with any control system to support a seamless user experience. Sidharth Dham, Area Sales Manager APAC at K-array, expressed his delight at appointing Systematik Distribution as K-array's distributor in Singapore. He praised the team's expertise and enthusiasm, voicing confidence in the partnership's potential to grow the brand's presence in the local market. Guests experienced a range of K-array solutions through demonstrations throughout the venue, including Vyper, Rumble, Tornado, Anakonda, GH4 and Python. The showcase offered an opportunity to hear the systems first-hand and appreciate how their compact forms can accommodate different architectural and installation requirements. NETGEAR and Powersoft also partnered with Systematik Distribution for the event. Powersoft acquired K-array in 2025.
