About the job
- A Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts degree and at least 2 years of work experience in journalism, copywriting, or copyediting media content such as music, television, and applications, with writing samples.
- Experience translating and localizing multimedia content.
- Ability to detect issues and inconsistencies across large volumes of content and make sound decisions based on available information.
- Broad knowledge of music artists, television, cinema, gaming, and popular culture.
- Ability to own the language market and make confident linguistic decisions.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize work, and meet deadlines.
- Fluency in written and verbal English.
- Strong computer literacy and knowledge of iOS and macOS systems is a plus.
- Ability to type in the native-level language using a local English keyboard.
- Ability to work independently and remotely.
- Collaborative ability to work in a multicultural environment.
- Localize, translate, and adapt multimedia, legal, technical, marketing, and other content while following writing style guides and guidelines.
- Write copy for multimedia products including music, television, app-store applications, video-on-demand services, and game subscription services.
- Review the linguistic quality of personal work and work completed by other localization team members across all content types.
- Copy-edit and fact-check content for accuracy.
- Perform Localization Quality Assurance testing on content published on live platforms, including music and app descriptions, marketing materials, and marketing campaigns.
- Research market-specific content treatment, content, product, and terminology trends, as well as localization best practices for the target audience.
- Transcribe spoken content such as lyrics.
- Report on data and assets across a broad range of media and content types.
- Review linguistic assessments, create training materials and project documents, and train localization team counterparts on terminology, style, and best practices.
- Collaborate with the global language team through virtual meetings and email on content reviews, terminology and style calibration, market trends and insights, and translations needed by the market team.
- Knowledge of iOS and macOS systems.
