Requirements
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent and at least two years of experience as an Administrative Assistant, Patient Service Representative, or Insurance Coordinator, plus the ability to type 60 words per minute.
  • Alternatively, a bachelor's degree and at least two years of experience working as a mental health clinician, plus the ability to type 60 words per minute.
  • Ability to sit, stand, bend, and reach; operate standard office equipment; and occasionally lift up to 30 pounds.
Responsibilities
  • Serve as the first point of contact for consumers and create a welcoming, trauma-informed environment.
  • Maintain a safe, aesthetically pleasing, and friendly front desk and lobby.
  • Receive and screen clinic telephone communications and direct callers appropriately.
  • Apply situational awareness and appropriate techniques to handle situations before they escalate.
  • Maintain online calendars, monitor and respond to Microsoft Teams channels, and fulfill email requests from staff and external agencies.
  • Manage front-desk operations, including scheduling, appointment confirmation, check-in, demographic verification, insurance verification and eligibility, payment and copay collection, and related administrative tasks.
  • Maintain accurate records of insurance verification, eligibility confirmations, and copays collected.
  • Protect each consumer's HIPAA rights and confidentiality and privacy protections.
  • Organize, compose, and produce letters, memoranda, reports, correspondence, and other documents, ensuring correct grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
  • Maintain appropriate professional boundaries and avoid dual relationships.
  • Update training documents and assist with on-site training and shadowing for new Administrative Assistants.
  • Replace toner and paper; copy, scan, and fax information as required.
  • Sort and distribute incoming mail and prepare outgoing mail.
  • Arrange transportation authorizations and transportation for dependent clients.
  • Attend assigned meetings.
  • Follow procedures for maintaining consistent standards in paper and electronic medical records, including updates to the HISM manual.
  • Complete requests for information from clinical and administrative staff.
  • Follow organizational and departmental procedures, rules, and guidelines.
  • Execute assigned benchmarks and deliverables.
  • Assist multiple front desks and provide administrative support to staff at the site.
  • Provide break and lunch coverage to other administrative staff as needed.
  • Coordinate clinic needs and programs and perform administrative duties during the Front Office Manager's absence.
  • Maintain reliable attendance with minimal callouts and tardiness.
  • Maintain a trauma-informed environment of care.
  • Perform other assigned duties and projects.

WellPower opens walk-in clinic for same-day opioid addiction treatment in Denver

WellPower, Colorado's largest community mental health centre, has opened a Medication-Assisted Treatment Walk-In Clinic in Denver to provide immediate, low-barrier care for people experiencing opioid use disorder or withdrawal. The clinic offers same-day support without appointments. The evidence-based model combines peer supporters with lived recovery experience, pharmacists and mental health clinicians. Services include same-day medication for withdrawal symptoms, short-term prescriptions and referrals to ongoing treatment programmes. Located at WellPower's Recovery Centre at 4455 E. 12th Ave., the clinic currently operates Wednesdays from 1:00 to 16:30, with plans to expand hours. The initiative responds to rising overdose deaths in Colorado and Denver. WellPower serves over 22,000 individuals annually across 30 sites and nearly 200 community locations.
