Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent and at least 2 years of job-related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft 365 (O365).
  • Ability to provide customer service, explain complicated information, handle confidential or financial information, troubleshoot computer issues, and maintain accurate records.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, work independently with minimal supervision, and maintain strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to learn Montana-specific rules, licenses, seasons, regulations, and recreational information.
Responsibilities
  • Provide internal customer service, technical support, and administrative support to fish, wildlife, state parks, law enforcement, and information and education programs.
  • Answer questions and provide accurate information about hunting, fishing, trapping, state parks, recreation, and Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks programs.
  • Sell licenses and accurately collect, process, balance, deposit, and account for money; submit remittance reports at least weekly.
  • Assist staff and the public with computer systems, databases, and other technology used by Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks.
  • Maintain records, process paperwork, organize information, and support multiple programs.
  • Maintain physical and digital filing systems; assist with reporting, data entry, and information tracking.
  • Accurately input collected data into Excel spreadsheets.
  • Provide phone coverage for the Licensing Call Center and administrative assistance to the Licensing Bureau.
  • Interact with agency staff, partner agencies, and members of the public through written and verbal communication.
