Requirements
  • Professional photography experience where the image itself is the product, with studio, object, product, editorial, food, or agency backgrounds considered relevant.
  • Ability to shoot to a studio standard at pace and outside a controlled set, not only under ideal conditions.
  • Real leadership experience setting standards, managing workload, and shaping how a team works together.
  • Sound judgement on prioritisation, including the confidence to decline work that does not warrant the team's time.
  • Working knowledge of contemporary capture and imaging technology, with a view on its future direction.
  • Ability to quickly understand how object handling, access controls, and conservation requirements affect the work.
Responsibilities
  • Photograph the collection and carry a meaningful share of the shooting.
  • Lead a small team of photographers, covering standards, workflow, priorities, and development.
  • Set the technical standard for studio photography and hold contractors to it when the team scales up.
  • Agree priorities with curatorial, exhibitions, and collection colleagues, and decide which objects are prioritised.
  • Plan studio operations through periods of high collection access, when objects are photographed during handling.
  • Photograph the institution's significant public events with a considered style.
  • Keep the studio current on capture technology and build those skills across neighbouring teams.
  • Oversee studio spaces, equipment, and environments, including input into facilities upgrades.
Desired Qualifications
  • Cultural or heritage collection experience.

Fulcrum provides an AI-powered platform that automates back-office tasks for insurance brokers, including proposal generation, policy checks, coverage and claims analysis, and certificate issuance. It uses customized large language models with retrieval, reasoning, and validation pipelines and integrates directly with agency-management systems like Applied Epic and email, so it can extract documents, reconcile data in real time, and update client records without changing users’ workflows. By reducing manual work and speeding up processing, it aims to cut turnaround times and lessen reliance on offshore BPOs. Its goal is to accelerate adoption among large U.S. brokerage firms and scale across top brokerages with ongoing funding.

What believers are saying

  • January 27, 2026 funding from CRV, South Park Commons, and Foundation Capital finances expansion.
  • Heffernan achieved 100% adoption for Fulcrum Proposals, validating workflow stickiness and expansion.
  • April 2026 Applied Systems vendor certification lowers procurement friction for brokerage rollouts.

What critics are saying

  • Applied Systems controls core brokerage software; any platform shift or pricing change compresses Fulcrum distribution.
  • Insurance errors create immediate E&O exposure; one bad policy-checking mistake can trigger churn and lawsuits.
  • AI-native rivals and in-house broker automations can replicate document workflows within twelve months.

What makes Fulcrum unique

  • Deep Applied Epic and Outlook integrations keep Fulcrum inside broker workflows, not a sidecar.
  • Insurance-tuned LLM pipelines and validation automate proposals, policy checks, and certificates with compliance.
  • By January 2026, Fulcrum served nearly half of top 50 U.S. brokerages.
