- At least 1 year of prior experience as a Veterinary Assistant is required.
- Experience with diagnostic procedures, technical tasks, surgical preparation, catheter placement, phlebotomy, and communication is required.
- Experience monitoring anesthesia is required.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical setting is required.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work on your feet for extended periods is required.
- Availability for rotating schedules is required.
- Assist with examinations, treatments, and patient care.
- Provide compassionate care and handling for patients of all sizes and temperaments.
- Support doctors with surgery, anesthesia monitoring, and emergency procedures.
- Perform diagnostic tests, including laboratory work and radiography, under supervision.
- Educate clients about basic pet care and post-treatment instructions.
- Administer medications and vaccines and maintain accurate medical records.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized hospital environment.
- Occasionally assist with front desk duties as needed.
