Bedrock Energy designs, drills, and installs geothermal systems for buildings, providing end-to-end geothermal heating and cooling. Its core product uses ground-source heat pumps paired with borehole fields to exchange heat with the earth, with data-driven algorithms that optimize borehole performance for long-term efficiency. The company differentiates itself by delivering integrated MEP design, energy financing, and construction partnerships, plus faster borehole construction and ongoing service under long-term agreements, all aimed at reliable, cost-saving HVAC for real estate projects. The goal is to make geothermal energy affordable and widely usable across diverse properties by delivering sustainable, emission-free heating and cooling with clear energy savings.

What believers are saying

  • Bedrock closed a $12 million Series A on January 22, 2025, led by Titanium Ventures.
  • Penn Field proved commercial delivery in Austin, finishing a 35-ton system in three months.
  • Hayden’s district project won support from Colorado agencies and Town of Hayden in 2025.

What critics are saying

  • Bedrock still depends on custom drilling economics; a single failed project kills margins.
  • Hayden’s phased build runs through 2028, exposing Bedrock to delayed revenue and permit risk.
  • No defensible software moat is proven yet; larger geothermal and drilling firms can copy features.

What makes Bedrock Energy unique

  • Bedrock pairs autonomous drilling with subsurface simulation, not just heat-pump installation.
  • Its Houston-style oilfield drilling expertise enables 1,000-foot boreholes in dense urban parcels.
  • The Hayden, Colorado district project positions Bedrock as infrastructure partner, not vendor.
