About the job
- A trade qualification in Carpentry or Plumbing is required.
- Plumbing applicants must hold a Queensland Building and Construction Commission Licence.
- At least 5 years of experience in a supervisory, coordination, or team support role within building services, facilities management, maintenance, or related industries is required.
- Experience coordinating service delivery, quoting activities, and maintenance programs is required.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and customer service skills are required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
- Strong administrative and organisational skills are required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required.
- Experience using computerized maintenance management system or integrated workplace management system platforms for maintenance management and reporting is required.
- A current driver's licence and ability to drive a manual vehicle are required.
- Applicants must be Australian citizens or Australian permanent residents.
- Coordinate and support a multi-trade maintenance team delivering planned and reactive works.
- Review internal quotations and assist with maintenance and installation activities.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
- Support service delivery outcomes to meet contractual key performance indicators and operational requirements.
- Prepare reports, meeting documentation, and service updates as required.
- Mentor apprentices and support team members in developing their skills and technical knowledge.
- Conduct toolbox talks, approve timesheets, and assist with day-to-day team coordination.
- Use computerized maintenance management system or integrated workplace management system platforms to manage maintenance activities, reporting, and asset information.
- Assist with troubleshooting technical issues and coordinating appropriate solutions.
- Support emergency response activities and provide hands-on assistance when required.
- Working at Heights certification.
- Confined Space certification.
- High Risk Work Licence.
- Experience within healthcare, education, government, or other large complex facilities.
- Experience mentoring apprentices and supporting trade development programs.
- Knowledge of contract compliance and maintenance performance requirements.

Veritas Capital to acquire facilities manager BGIS. July 17, 2026 | John McNulty Veritas Capital has agreed to acquire BGIS from CCMP Capital Advisors and Alberta Investment Management Corporation (AIMCo). BGIS runs and maintains buildings and facilities - offices, data centers, and government, healthcare, and industrial sites - for large public and private organizations, handling the engineering, operations, and technology that keep those properties running, a service known in the industry as technical integrated facilities management (IFM). The company oversees more than 65,000 facilities totaling over 620 million square feet globally with a team of more than 12,000. Gord Hicks continues as chief executive officer and will lead the business with his management team. CCMP and AIMCo had backed BGIS since 2019. Veritas Capital, a technology investor focused on companies operating at the intersection of technology and government, manages over $54 billion in assets.
