The Color Designer will assist the Concept Design Manager and VP of Design in the creation of seasonal color palettes and visual assets, and will manage dip and pattern development and approvals. They should exhibit attributes of a good team member and collaborator and see constructive feedback as an opportunity to grow and learn. They will play a key role in how our color and pattern reach the customer, offering trend right, intentional color and pattern with precise focus on color accuracy and pattern execution.
This is a full-time hybrid role based at our San Francisco office headquarters in the Mission neighborhood, reporting to the Concept Design Manager.
Your day-to-day:
- Assist Concept Design Manager in seasonal color, pattern, and trend research
- Build physical and digital color and pattern palettes
- Build Product Playbook and other visual communication assets
- Assists in Coloring the line, filling CAD pages, and maintaining visual line sheets
- Own loading dip and artwork requests with correct fabrication, dye technique, and print specifications
- Build Pitch sheets for artwork development
- Responsible for dip and raw approvals with support from collection assistant
- Maintains dip approval binder, dip folders, and all digital tracking of dip approvals and color names
- Works closely with Raw Materials to understand color and pattern feasibility across all materials.
- Works with Merchandising to understand color and pattern performance to inform future palette and pattern decisions.
- Become an expert in color and pattern execution and educate cross-functional partners on limitations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams: Design, Raw Materials, Sourcing, Product Development and Merchandising.
We’d love to hear from you if you have:
- 3-5 years of experience in color design, color analyst, or similar role
- Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion or closely related design field
- Exacting eye for color and pattern with an innate sense of trend
- The desire to work on a collaborative and diverse team that is dedicated to doing good for the planet and the consumer
- Strong communication and organizational skills

California resident: At Everlane, we carefully consider a wide range of compensation factors, including your background and experience. These considerations can cause your compensation to vary. The compensation range for this role is $32.50-$48.00 per hour. This range is based on the San Francisco geographic area and the actual pay may vary depending on your skills, qualifications, experience, and geographic location.
