About the job
- Have coaching experience, including experience with adults and junior development.
- Have a tennis background in competitive play; college-level or high-level junior tournament play is preferred.
- Must provide outstanding customer service.
- Must have weekend availability and be able to commit to a regular schedule; flexibility to substitute for additional hours is a plus.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
- Provide adult tennis instruction through private lessons and group classes for beginner through advanced players.
- Provide junior tennis instruction, primarily to juniors age 10 and under at beginner and novice levels in a group setting.
- Promote tennis programs within the club and engage members in the programs.
- Evaluate student progress and teach tennis techniques using best practices.
- Teach group and private lessons to players of all ability levels.
- Be familiar with all racquet sports programs, schedules, courts, and lesson fees.
- Maintain accurate attendance and billing by updating the club's software class roster for all group tennis activities.
- Develop an understanding of tennis racquet sales techniques, stay current with new equipment technology, and assist the Pro Shop department as needed.
- Be familiar with the club's Player Rating system to place members in appropriate classes.
- Manage open time in the club's scheduling software.
- Communicate with members, return messages, and follow up as necessary by phone and email.
- Keep the tennis courts and surrounding areas clean, including towels and cups, and report issues requiring Housekeeping attention.
- Report court maintenance issues.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
- College-level competitive tennis play or high-level junior tournament play is preferred.
- Flexibility to substitute for additional hours is a plus.
