Requirements
  • Ability to perform mechanical work on heavy construction, farm, or material-handling equipment.
  • Ability to diagnose equipment problems and determine the parts and tools required for repairs.
  • Ability to provide personal tools from 1/2-inch impact size downward and safely use and maintain company-provided tools.
  • Ability to comply with OSHA and other applicable city, county, state, and federal regulations and company safety policies.
  • Ability to maintain accurate time records and communicate parts requirements clearly.
Responsibilities
  • Perform mechanical service on customer and company equipment in the shop to meet customer needs and company goals.
  • Perform mechanical repairs on heavy construction, farm, or material-handling equipment in a timely and effective manner.
  • Diagnose equipment requirements personally and with assistance from the Shop Foreman or Service Manager.
  • Determine the parts and tools needed to complete repairs.
  • Submit orders for required repair parts to the parts department and maintain records of ordered parts.
  • Follow up on parts arrival so work can continue with minimal delay.
  • Complete time records accurately for each job by punching in and out when moving between jobs.
  • Ensure personal and company-provided tools are in good working condition and safe to use.
  • Work safely, comply with applicable regulations and company safety policies, and report on-the-job injuries.
  • Maintain a clean work area in, on, and around the equipment and shop.
  • Assist qualified mechanics with identifying and correcting equipment problems.
  • Perform other duties as required.
