Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree is required.
  • Must obtain a driver's license with an approved driving record that passes the insurance criteria.
  • Must successfully complete ACT 153 clearances and a Motor Vehicle Record check with an active driver's license.
  • Must have well-developed interpersonal skills.
  • Must be able to work independently with minimal oversight.
  • Must be able to recruit, teach, and coach highly talented student-athletes who can succeed in a challenging academic environment.
  • Must have experience using video breakdown, analysis, and analytics to improve team performance.
  • Must maintain current CPR and First Aid certification.
Responsibilities
  • Model integrity, respect, and good sportsmanship while holding student-athletes accountable for the same behavior.
  • Communicate regularly with the Head Coach and contribute to the athletics program and Lycoming community as a representative of the women's volleyball program.
  • Promote the women's volleyball program, the overall athletic program, and Lycoming College professionally with alumni, parents, community members, and college personnel.
  • Know and abide by NCAA Division III regulations and Landmark Conference rules, and complete the annual NCAA open-book rules test.
  • Comply with athletic training handbook policies and procedures, and cooperate with athletic trainers and the Head Coach to ensure student-athletes receive proper medical and physical training services.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Athletics Communications to promote the women's volleyball program.
  • Assist the Head Coach in organizing and executing community service events and initiatives.
  • Assist the Head Coach in organizing and conducting practices and competitive events.
  • Instruct student-athletes using sound volleyball principles and skills.
  • Prepare student-athletes for games through technology presentations and on-court instruction.
  • Assist the Head Coach with the game-day experience, including meals, travel coordination, and film exchange.
  • Use technological resources available to student-athletes to support practice and game preparation.
  • Recruit student-athletes who meet Lycoming College's admissions requirements in compliance with NCAA Division III rules and regulations.
  • Discuss recruitment plans regularly with the Head Coach to target student-athletes who meet program needs and have the potential to excel academically and athletically.
  • Assist the Head Coach in creating, organizing, and maintaining recruiting information for prospective student-athletes.
  • Assist in organizing and executing on-campus visits for prospective student-athletes.
  • Assist the Head Coach in monitoring student-athletes' academic success through individual academic meetings and support their academic development through graduation.
