Responsibilities
Perform basic building maintenance, including light repairs, bulb replacements, and seasonal tasks such as snow removal and exterior upkeep.
Monitor and report facility issues requiring repair or vendor attention.
Maintain tools and supply inventory in an orderly fashion.
Assist with set-up and breakdown for performances, private events, and meetings, including moving furniture, equipment, tables, and signage.
Support custodial functions when needed, including trash removal, light cleaning, and restocking.
Conduct routine inspections of backstage and public spaces for safety, cleanliness, and functionality.
Recognize and address facility issues quickly.
Prioritize tasks in a time-sensitive environment.
Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Desired Qualifications
Prior experience in facilities, building maintenance, or event support is preferred.
Experience in a performing arts or live event environment is a plus.

Summary
The Facilities Assistant supports the day-to-day upkeep and smooth operation of the France-Merrick Performing Arts Center. This part-time position assists with building maintenance, event set-ups, and routine inspections to ensure that all facilities are safe, clean, and welcoming for patrons, performers, and staff. The Facilities Assistant provides essential support to the Facilities team and other departments to keep operations running smoothly in a live entertainment environment.
Duties and Responsibilities
Maintenance & Upkeep
