Requirements
  • A high school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
  • One to two years of experience and/or training in aviation or cargo operations, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to become trained and approved for specialty responsibilities such as aircraft oil and oxygen service, towing, and deicing; relevant specialty approval and certifications are preferred.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Ability to pass company criminal and motor vehicle background checks, drug tests, and airport background checks; obtain and maintain an airport security badge; and remain insurable under applicable company insurance policies.
  • Excellent vision and coordination to move and/or direct aircraft.
  • Ability to pass a color vision test for visually inspecting aviation fuel.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the jurisdiction of employment.
  • A valid state driver’s license is required; certain positions require a commercial driver’s license as dictated by local regulations and business needs.
  • Ability to read and comprehend safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals in English for safety-sensitive tasks.
  • Ability to communicate clearly in English in person, by telephone, radio, and in writing, and to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical operations involving addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, fractions, angles, degrees, and time.
  • Ability to physically enter, exit, and operate motor vehicles and ground support equipment, including fuel trucks, vans, tugs, freight-handling equipment, and cars.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and interpret written, oral, diagrammatic, and schedule-based instructions where limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with team members and provide service to guests.
  • Ability to use a computer, complete computer-based training modules, use Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, and learn company software.
  • Strong time management, project management, and organizational skills, including the ability to complete company training programs accurately and on time.
Responsibilities
  • Lead a team conducting base operations safely and efficiently according to established policies and standard operating procedures.
  • Manage the performance of Airside Experience and/or Guest Experience Teams, correct performance deficiencies, and administer corrective action as needed.
  • Interview, onboard, train, and manage team members while supporting their engagement and development.
  • Schedule, coordinate, and assign duties to qualified team members; conduct shift and team meetings; and manage special events.
  • Provide on-the-job training and assistance and ensure all airline-required training is administered and completed.
  • Serve as a resource on guest service matters and an escalation point for guest inquiries.
  • Assist with ramp operations, including aircraft storage, cargo service operations, fueling, deicing, lavatory service, ground power, potable water, parking, marshalling, wing walking, catering delivery, and towing.
  • Prepare for arriving and departing aircraft, perform open job tasks, correct observed safety concerns, conduct safety observations, and document findings.
  • Operate and drive ground service equipment, including fuel trucks, deicing trucks, ground power units, tugs, stair trucks, and freight-handling equipment.
  • Assist with or manage regulatory compliance, audits, and reporting for airport or government parties.
  • Manage inventory of base supplies, uniforms, and equipment according to procurement and expensing procedures.
  • Maintain security of premises, including street-side areas, parking lots, terminals, hangars, and the airport operations area.
  • Maintain safe, clean, and secure ramps and operations.
  • Monitor and maintain fuel inventories, including ordering, fuel quality-control checks, fuel receipt, and related documentation.
  • Understand, comply with, and enforce operational, safety, and guest-service requirements.
  • Stop work when an unsafe condition or act could harm people, the environment, company or guest assets, or the company’s reputation.
  • Follow emergency response procedures during critical events.
  • Understand, comply with, and enforce physical, cyber, and data security protocols established by Signature Aviation and the airport.
  • Maintain accurate records of team members’ time worked and activities and services performed; oversee payroll and compliance when assigned.
