Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in quality, mechanical, or industrial engineering is required.
  • Two years of quality experience in the automotive manufacturing industry are required.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel, is required.
  • The role requires a flexible schedule and the ability to work overtime as needed.
Responsibilities
  • Collect, analyze, and report defects recorded in systems.
  • Lead action plan creation and maintenance with cross-functional teams.
  • Perform adhesion and film-build testing compliance activities.
  • Collect and document color and orange-peel data.
  • Collect and review daily Prime Shop data reports and report the RYG sheet for paint conformance.
  • Review Alpha Assembly data to identify current issues with painted parts.
  • Review data from other customers concerning paint defects, stratify the data, and communicate findings to plant personnel as required.
  • Monitor daily Layered Process Audits.
  • Conduct daily first-time-through review and on-floor data verification and investigation.
  • Ensure all required testing is completed on time and requirements are met.
  • Collect data biweekly and report the top three defects and trend charts.
  • Communicate biweekly with Synergy to understand the current defects-per-unit rate and the top three origins of dirt or contamination.
  • Collect and review Certificates of Authenticity from paint suppliers.
  • Report weekly to senior management on top defects and improvement actions.
  • Lead dirt-defect meetings.
  • Review inventory and order and stock all touch-up paint, including marker and spray paint.
  • Collect and review monthly Prime Shop documentation and check sheets.
  • Collect and review monthly Topcoat Shop documentation and check sheets.
  • Conduct color-harmony meetings with Stellantis.
  • Perform adhesion testing after humidity exposure quarterly.
  • Perform record-retention activities annually.
  • Calibrate and recertify all electronic and non-electronic measuring and testing devices annually.
  • Create and maintain documentation for the Prime and Top Coat Paint Shops, including flow documentation, Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis, Control Plans, Work Instructions, Forms, Visual Aids, Trial Waivers, and Quality Alerts.
  • Assist with color development concerning PF-7051 sample submissions for corporate adhesion testing.
  • Support Customer Service Quality Engineers with corrective actions, documentation updates, process changes, and related activities.
  • Monitor calibration and perform service maintenance for measuring or testing devices used within the Prime and Top Coat Paint Shops.
