Requirements
- Must submit to a color-acuity screening test.
- One year of experience in a clinical laboratory is required.
- A bachelor's degree in a chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited institution is required, with eligibility for an appropriate certification examination.
- Alternatively, an associate degree in laboratory science, chemical or biological science, or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution and certification as a Medical Technologist are required.
- Alternatively, graduation from a military program in health science, biology, chemical science, physical science, or medical technology and certification as a Medical Technologist are required.
- Alternatively, candidates grandfathered as Medical Technologists by having previously qualified as a technologist on or before February 28, 1992, must hold current certification as a Medical Technologist.
- Acceptable certifying agencies include the American Society for Clinical Pathology, National Certification Agency, American Medical Technologists, American Association of Bioanalysts, and Health, Education and Welfare.
- Ability to implement and perform clinical laboratory procedures according to proper standards and regulations is required.
Responsibilities
- Implement and perform clinical laboratory procedures according to proper standards and regulations.
- Work from 6:30 p.m. to 7 a.m.
- Work rotating weekends.
