Responsibilities
  • Act as an Environmental Scientist - Waste Management Technical Specialist and expert in waste management within NEPA documentation; lead the preparation of technical sections within environmental documents.
  • Provide technical reviews and ensure quality assurance in waste management assessments.
  • Contribute to development and execution of NEPA team projects; collaborate with internal staff and external partners to ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance of waste management documentation.
  • Participate in periodic reviews, provide detailed technical analysis, and maintain meticulous documentation practices.
  • Align technical contributions with overall project objectives while adhering to regulatory standards.
  • Perform NEPA Environmental Analysis and Determinations including development of draft documents (primarily categorical exclusions) and data synthesis for historic preservation reporting.
  • Support NEPA Inbox functions: monitor submissions, generate reports, enter project information into NEPA Tracker, provide feedback to recipients and NEPA staff, and route inquiries.
  • Attend and document NEPA-related meetings, hearings, and calls; participate in NEPA Division staff and public meetings; conduct interviews with recipients and contractors for NEPA documents.
  • Track and report NEPA progress and update NEPA actions as needed until completion.
  • Record completed NEPA documents in appropriate repositories (PMC, network drives).
  • Be involved in and document consultations with federal, state, tribal, and local agencies and organizations; prepare documents of interactions regarding compliance with laws and permitting protocols.
  • Provide support for environmental policy and training development; assist in developing Standard Operating Procedures or environmental training; review GFO reports or documents as requested.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, and Adobe; strong data analytic tools and Visio could be inferred from ancillary details.
