Requirements
  • Satisfactorily complete an AMA-approved school of radiological technology.
  • Be registered by the American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT).
  • Hold ARRT Advanced Modality Registration.
  • Hold a license from the South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association (SCRQSA).
  • Have at least two years of multi-modality experience.
  • Have certification in the modality area after radiology certification.
  • Hold a current American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification or American Red Cross Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification.
  • Be fully competent in advanced modality skill sets and flexible to rotate.
  • Be able to perform the listed physical functions, including standing, sitting, walking, climbing stairs, working in confined spaces, lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds unassisted, exerting up to 50 pounds of force, and maintaining required vision, hearing, sensory, and motor capabilities.
  • Be able to deal effectively with stressful situations, work rotating shifts and overtime as required, and work in a latex-safe environment.

  • Perform computed tomography and radiology studies of designated anatomical areas.
  • Obtain patient histories.
  • Explain routine procedures.
  • Address patient concerns.
