We are seeking a Sales Engineer to own the technical component of the prospective client experience, from the proof-of-concept to the final decision. This individual will provide technical support to the sales team, become a trusted advisor to customers, assist the sales team in designing demo accounts, be a source of truth as a subject matter expert, and create Sales for unique client challenges. As a Sales Engineer you will be responsible for helping Account Executives sell Awardco. You will be the primary contact for prospective clients to help them understand what they are buying and what problems they are looking to solve. This role is usually involved in pre-sales activities. This includes discovery calls, technical demos, proof of concepts and getting a technical close.
What you will accomplish:
- Prepare and deliver technical presentations that explain products or services to clients and prospective clients.
- Become the trusted advisor by demonstrating deep product knowledge and real-world application to solve clients’ challenges and issues.
- Leverage technical knowledge to overcome prospective client barriers and concerns.
- Support the creation, build-out, and maintenance of shared team assets including knowledge base, technical training, sandbox/demo sites, etc.
- Conduct technical discovery to uncover pain points and challenging business use cases.
- Collaborate with sales managers to understand individual team and AE needs.
- Provide technical support, demo prep, product expertise and training to AEs.
- Provide technical guidance for troubleshooting of systems and demos.
- Provide guidelines for implementing secure systems to prospective clients or installation teams.
What you will bring:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required.
- 1-3+ years of experience as a Sales Engineer or similar customer-facing experience
- Experience selling products requiring technical expertise and support for installation and use.
- Ability to learn, understand and communicate complex technical concepts and develop skills to create compelling Sales that demonstrate business value.
- Extraordinary presentation and communication skills, with the ability to establish trust across a range of technical and non-technical audiences.
- Previous experience with SFTP, API and SSO integrations.
- Previous experience with Salesforce.
- Previous experience working with HRIS providers preferred.
