Requirements
  • Successful completion of an accredited allopathic or osteopathic medical school.
  • Completion of an ACGME-accredited residency program in an acceptable specialty area.
  • Eligibility for a State of Ohio medical license.
  • Qualification for an academic appointment at the assistant, associate, or full professor level, with academic rank and salary commensurate with previous training and experience.
  • The core faculty member must have a history of providing prenatal services, including obstetrical ultrasound in the outpatient setting.
  • The core faculty member must be able to obtain hospital privileges for routine pregnancy care, including vaginal deliveries.
  • The core faculty member must have experience coordinating a resident maternity care curriculum.
  • The core faculty member must actively participate clinically in Family Medicine.
  • The core faculty member must devote sufficient time to the educational program to fulfill supervisory and teaching responsibilities.
  • The core faculty member must demonstrate a strong interest in resident education.
  • Clinical faculty members must hold a Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, doctorate, or other terminal degree in the relevant field.
  • Tenure-track faculty members must hold a doctorate, Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, or other terminal degree in the relevant field of study.
  • Research faculty members must hold a doctorate or other terminal degree in the relevant field of study.
Responsibilities
  • Serve as a core faculty member in the Family Medicine residency program.
  • Teach medical students and Family Medicine residents.
  • Cover the Family Medicine inpatient service at University Hospital East.
  • Provide prenatal and maternity care, including vaginal deliveries, at the Wexner Medical Center.
  • Supervise and teach residents in accordance with educational program requirements.
Desired Qualifications
  • Completion of an FM/Obstetrics fellowship is preferred but not required.
  • Prior educational and clinical experience as a faculty member of a Family Medicine residency program is preferred.
