The candidate will need to have responsibilities for Virtualization Security Engineering management.  This encompasses managing a team delivering on NSX-T: Firewall, ATP, IDS, network segmentation, automation, and SASE segmentation technologies: Zscaler Private Access and Zero Trust Network Access. The Virtualization Security engineering manager will report to the Head of Security Network Services within Cyber Security Engineering and Architecture and must partner with peer groups in Innovation, Architecture, and Technology Services. The candidate will collaborate with business integrating their applications with NSX and SASE service within a service-oriented organization that meets the business needs of a digital bank. Manage security engineering team, define priorities, project assignments, product roadmap and collaborate with multiple teams to gather requirements.   Manage Irving, Texas based team, with office presence 2 days a week, including mentoring, training, and team development.     

Responsibilities:

• Work with Transformation Program Directors, Senior Architects, Steering Committees, CISO and CTI partners in delivering the transformational Programs

• Evaluate security gaps in current architecture and processes, maintaining market and vendor awareness of both trends and advancing capabilities in alignment to the transformational program goals.

• Interface and support Citi’s Security Architecture Council and Working Groups building strong rapport across teams.

• Support Citi’s adoption of cloud continuum and holistic digital transformation.

• Influence market leading vendor’s roadmap through close relationship

• Proactively participate in enterprise security work groups and teams to come up with innovative ideas and drive them to execution

• Work with Citi’s virtualization operations team to identify security gaps in the environment and automation compatibility with future products

• Design and drive virtualization security controls implementations at a global scale for all virtualization - software defined networks, virtual machines, containers (Open Shift)

• Champion the use of existing automation to orchestrate security controls deployment

• Manage a team of developers and the lifecycle of the application

• Drive the future end-to-end SASE Engineering, collaborating with operations teams to define end-to-end operational model

• Work on global design to achieve Zero Trust Network Access  

• Provide solutions and processes in accordance with audit initiatives and requirements and consult with Business Information Security officers (BISOs) and TISOs

• Assess regulatory guidance and ensure that Citi’s security solutions will lead to compliance

• Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm’s reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

• Lead engineering and design of our Zscaler Private Access design, migration plan from flat network access to Zero Trust architecture

• Write and publish designs, architecture standards and best practice guides for the global audience

• Architect our future Internet and Private Access design as well as our virtualization roadmap

• Lead and influence a virtual global team, act as a senior subject matter expert for subject security technologies and disciplines 

Qualifications:

• 10+ years of relevant cybersecurity and/or IT experience

• Leadership roles across technology or cybersecurity leading large programs or transformational activities

• Proven strong knowledge of Cyber Security solutions and products focusing on Cloud, CASB and SASE.

• Strong knowledge of Virtualization and Networking technologies

• Thorough understanding of industry and corporate technology standards for Cyber Security services

• Demonstrated ability to take ownership and work with cross functional teams to manage multiple projects simultaneously under pressure

• Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills

• Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and oral communication as well as strong presentation skills to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Experience in SASE implementation

• Hands-on experience in Zscaler Internet Access, Zscaler Private Access, Zscaler Digital Experience

• Proven experience with VMware product suite

• Strong knowledge of Proxy functionality and Proxy features

Critical Competencies:

• NSX-T Engineering

  • Strong knowledge of Software Defined Networks

  • Strong knowledge of NSX-T virtualization capabilities with a focus on security components, Distributed Firewall, security objects, Intrusion Detection System

  • Strong knowledge of vCenter and ESXI and how they’re managed by NSX

  • Experience with vRealize Orchestrator, vRealize Log Insight, vRealize Network Insight
