Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- A bachelor's degree is preferred.
- At least 5 years of experience in mortgage loan origination is required.
- Strong knowledge of mortgage lending practices, regulations, and guidelines is required.
- Proficiency in loan origination software and Microsoft Office Suite is required.
- An NMLS license is required.
- The ability to stand and walk for four hours continuously or up to a full eight-hour day, sit for extended periods, kneel and bend at the waist, walk up and down stairs, walk on uneven terrain, use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear is required.
- The ability to lift or move up to 25 pounds is required.
- Close, distance, color, and peripheral vision are required.
Responsibilities
- Originate residential mortgage loans.
- Evaluate and recommend loan products to meet client needs.
- Collect and review financial documents from clients.
- Maintain current knowledge of mortgage products, industry regulations, and company policies.
- Provide customer service throughout the loan process.
- Develop and maintain relationships with real estate agents, builders, and other industry professionals.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and company guidelines.
- Use discretion, judgment, and analytical skills to interpret complex situations.
- Issue pre-qualification letters, review credit reports and income calculations, and review borrower applications to confirm that they meet loan-product guidelines.
