POSITION OVERVIEW:
The GREY New Business team is a small, fast-paced, high performing group responsible for incubating all new growth opportunities for the agency. You will be working with both existing client partners and brands but will also respond and identify new client engagement opportunities to work with our Famously Effective team. GREY is seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to drive the day-to-day elements of our pitch process. This role will be fairly visible at the most senior levels of GREY, and will need to work collaboratively across cross-disciplinary teams. Reporting to the Group Director/Director of New Business, this role will be responsible for supporting purposeful growth and business development for our New York headquarters to drive significant revenue for the agency.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Drives select small-to-mid sizes new business pitches from start to end, crafting pitch strategy, approach and guides development of story and presentation for the health and wellness practice
- Ensures pitch team has relevant brand background (business, creative, competitive)
- Leads discussions with pitch team on “what will win this” - and aligned to how we want to engage with the client throughout the pitch process
- Gives strategic and effective feedback to pitch team throughout process
- Ensures team has created chemistry before client meetings
- Creates work-back schedules to key milestones and gets meetings on calendars in partnership with PM
- Leads pitch team to ensure we are clear on objective of the strategy and creative needed to be developed and a timeline around both
- Ensures everything we deliver meets our exceedingly high standards - both in content and design execution
- Confirm right resources are in place / are engaged appropriately
- Provide feedback and guidance to strengthen presentation or response: push to elevate the quality of each and every engagement throughout the process
- Encourage and facilitate collaboration across disciplines, agencies, and as needed, markets to deliver on what is needed to win
- Acquire thorough knowledge of important trends and product categories; stay current; including keeping up with industry dynamics and major changes (leadership changes, reviews, wins, capabilities offerings, etc.) to educate agency leadership on market dynamics on a regular basis
- Provide consultative support at key points throughout BD process on pitches when not leading
- Always up to speed on the work coming out of Grey NY and our global health and wellness centers of excellence
- Owns key presentation and written responses focused on credentials and case studies
- Owns financial components and budget for individual pitches with approval from Group Director of New Business
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE: (1 year from now)
- Ability to manage 1-2 projects independently at a given time
- Demonstrates foresight to strategically and proactively manage all New Business requests and pitches related to health and wellness
- Leads internal presentations with little-to-no support needed
- Effectively leading pitch teams while providing support to Director of New Business and levels above on bigger pitches
- Has clear and tangible impact in pitches resulting in wins contributing to double-digit revenue growth

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:
- 5+ years’ experience in a Business Development role within recognized agencies
- Outstanding oral and written communication skills as well as well as ability to deliver professional and persuasive presentations
- Demonstrated talent for abstract thinking, spotting trends and patterns, an innate curiosity and insight into human behavior, an instinct for pop culture, and a nuanced understanding or creative work are critical
- Long-range strategic planning and time management skills
The base salary for this position at the time of this posting may range from $100,000 to $135,000.
