Requirements
  • Currently pursuing a Master's degree in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or Data Sciences.
  • Experience working with statistical packages such as R, SAS, Stata, or MATLAB.
  • Experience articulating product questions, pulling data from datasets using SQL, and using statistics to arrive at an answer.
  • Applicants must be located in the United States for the duration of the internship.
  • English proficiency is required for the internship program.
  • An updated CV or resume and a current unofficial or official transcript in English are required application materials.
Responsibilities
  • Conduct data analysis to make business or product recommendations, including cost-benefit, invest-divest, forecasting, and impact analysis.
  • Deliver presentations of findings and recommendations to multiple levels of stakeholders, creating visual displays of quantitative information.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to understand business needs and formulate and complete analyses involving data gathering, analysis, scaled deliverables, and presentations.
  • Help Google focus on key decisions to improve products and services.
  • Provide quantitative analysis, market expertise, and a strategic perspective to organizational partners.
  • Serve as an analytics expert for partners, using data to support better decisions and making recommendations to Engineering and Product Management.
Desired Qualifications
  • Currently attending a degree program in the United States and available to work full time for 12 weeks outside of university term time.
  • In the penultimate academic year or returning to a degree program after completion of the internship.
  • Experience articulating product questions, pulling data from datasets using SQL or Python, and using statistics to arrive at an answer.
  • Ability to translate analysis results into business recommendations.
  • Interest and ability to work with data, metrics, analysis, and trends, with applied knowledge of measurement, statistics, and program evaluation.
  • Problem-solving, written and verbal communication, and business judgment skills.
