What believers are saying

  • Post's paid summer newsroom internships span reporting, graphics development and digital design.
  • Arc XP expanded its product line: September 2026 brought Compass, personalized homepages that retain editors' lead-story choices.
  • Post employees get peer support: LOTUS includes Pan-Asian mentorship and advocacy, with membership open to all employees.

What critics are saying

  • Job security suffered: February 2026 restructuring cut about 75 positions at the Post's Arc XP technology arm.
  • The turnaround follows heavy losses: February 2026 reporting put The Post's 2025 deficit above $100 million.
  • Post newsroom staff face outside-activity limits: partisan involvement is restricted and household business ties require disclosure.

What makes The Washington Post unique

  • Arc XP reaches beyond its owner: customers include The Irish Times and Sky News.
