Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent and at least 6 months of supervisory experience are required; successful completion of GGW’s Aspiring Manager and Employ Excellence Programs may substitute for this requirement.
  • Excellent customer service skills are required.
  • Basic computer skills are required.
  • The ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing is required.
  • The ability to perform basic math is required.
  • The ability to read and comprehend internal documents related to store operations is required.
  • The ability to perform continuous walking, stooping, standing, bending, kneeling, and climbing for prolonged periods of time, up to 7 hours per 8-hour shift, is required.
  • The ability to lift between 40 and 50 pounds frequently is required.
Responsibilities
  • Monitor and ensure a smooth production process for donation functions, inventory control, and adherence to production procedures and the agency’s core value pledge for processors and donation staff.
  • Perform the duties of production staff when needed, including providing customer service to donors, greeting donors, safely unloading donations, completing donor receipts, and sorting and processing donated items into designated categories.
  • Maintain production levels and the quality of merchandise sent to the sales floor.
  • Assist in enforcing store safety and security procedures.
  • Assist in settling complaints.
  • Provide input for associate interviews and performance evaluations.
  • Maintain a professional appearance in accordance with Goodwill uniform standards.
  • Assist with maintaining proper staffing in relation to budgets.
  • Assist the Assistant Production Manager in accurately recording department work.
  • Assist with monitoring the time and attendance system.
  • Assist with interviews, training, and instruction of workers to develop their full working potential.
  • Assist with developing efficient and effective methods and procedures for work simplification and material processing.
  • Supervise retail staff, including donation attendants, processors, and sales associates.
  • Perform other duties as directed and required.
Desired Qualifications
  • Previous experience working in a warehouse environment.
  • Previous experience in transportation production.
  • The ability to coach and direct employees.
  • The ability to adapt to periodic and rapid change.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish.
