Requirements
  • A PhD in Agronomy, Geosciences, Environmental sciences, or a closely related discipline is required.
  • A strong background in agricultural remote sensing is required.
  • The ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others is required.
Responsibilities
  • Participate in all phases of field research projects, including experimental design, implementation, data collection, analysis, modeling, and dissemination of research findings.
  • Manage field experiments.
  • Coordinate and conduct ground-truth data collection.
  • Operate, test, validate, and refine crop models to improve prediction accuracy.
  • Contribute to the development and application of machine learning and artificial intelligence approaches for crop management, yield prediction, and decision-support systems.
  • Prepare manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals.
  • Contribute to the development of competitive grant proposals.
  • Present research findings at scientific meetings.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
  • Proficiency in handling remotely sensed geospatial datasets and programming languages, particularly R or Python.
  • Knowledge, experience, and interest in assessing the impacts of agricultural management practices on environmental outcomes, including carbon and nitrogen cycling, carbon sequestration, greenhouse gas emissions, and global warming potential.
  • An excellent academic record, including authored or co-authored publications and contributions to significant scientific meetings, seminars, and conferences.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
