Thales, KSSL team up to produce combat-proven 70mm rockets in India. Thales and Kalyani Strategic Systems Limited (KSSL) have joined forces to explore the production of unguided and laser-guided 70-millimeter (2.75-inch) rocket systems in India. The Strategic Alliance Agreement, signed during Belgian Prime Minister Bart De Wever's state visit with Indian PM Narendra Modi in New Delhi, sets the framework for the technology transfer as well as the local production and distribution of Thales' rocket systems and associated equipment. The companies aim to produce the first locally assembled rocket system by early 2027. As the Indian Armed Forces already use Thales' 70mm rocket systems, the collaboration would enable the South Asian country to domestically produce its military's requirements while advancing its vision to become a globally competitive defense manufacturing hub. The move also helps strengthen Europe's security of rocket supply, according to the Belgian defense ministry. Sovereign defense. The deal combines Thales' rocket technologies with KSSL's advanced manufacturing, integration and testing capabilities to support both Indian and global requirements. The 70mm rockets can be integrated across naval, ground, and aerial platforms, including India's Advanced Light Helicopter and the Light Combat Helicopter. "By combining Thales' proven technologies with Kalyani Strategic Systems' advanced industrial ecosystem including our upcoming Energetics facility in Andhra Pradesh, this strategic partnership lays the foundation for indigenous production of next-generation rocket systems," said KSSL CEO Neelesh Tungar.

Thales and Kelly Hills launch topsky-powered agricultural drone network. Thales is partnering with Kelly Hills Unmanned Systems to deploy a BVLOS network that supports safer and more efficient agricultural operations across Kansas.
