About the job

Requirements
  • The candidate must have 1 to 3 years of experience in a business development representative, sales development representative, or similar top-of-funnel sales role, ideally at an early-stage business-to-business or software-as-a-service company.
  • The candidate must have consistently hit or exceeded meeting and pipeline targets through their own outbound effort.
  • The candidate must have written outreach that generates replies because it is specific, human, and useful rather than templated.
  • The candidate must have stayed organized and disciplined across a high volume of accounts and touches.
  • The candidate must demonstrate a bias toward action and genuine curiosity about customers.
  • The candidate must have worked in the United States with authorization that does not require sponsorship.
Responsibilities
  • Own the top of the funnel by building and working targeted prospect lists of cities, counties, and special districts and turning them into qualified conversations for the team.
  • Run thoughtful outreach by writing and sending personalized email, call, and LinkedIn sequences that address the problems municipal finance teams face.
  • Book qualified meetings by setting up and confirming discovery calls with finance directors, treasurers, and decision makers and handing them off cleanly to the go-to-market lead.
  • Use artificial intelligence tools for research, account mapping, list building, and message drafting to expand prospecting coverage.
  • Keep the pipeline clean by tracking every touch and outcome in the customer relationship management system and reporting on what is working.
  • Learn how local governments evaluate and buy software and provide those insights to the team.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience selling into government, the public sector, or other complex, multi-stakeholder buyers.
  • Experience in financial technology, payments, or financial software.
  • Daily experience using artificial intelligence tools to research accounts, build lists, or draft outreach.
  • Comfort being the first dedicated business development representative and helping build the sales playbook from scratch.

About the company

Edwin provides a software-as-a-service platform for public sector finance and treasury management. It helps local governments manage cash and investments, generate reports, and enforce financial controls through a single, real-time view that connects to existing ERP systems and banking partners. The platform uses AI to automate reconciliation, forecast cash flow, and produce daily treasury reports and annual ACFR filings, all while embedding regulatory and policy requirements into the workflow. Compared with other providers, Edwin targets public agencies with a government-focused feature set, rapid deployment (measured in days rather than months), policy-aligned investing, and benchmarking against similar-sized agencies, which differentiates it through compliance, transparency, and governance controls. The company aims to reduce risk, maximize returns on idle funds, and ensure accurate review and accounting of all financial transactions through a scalable, cloud-based solution.
