Requirements

A high school diploma or GED is required.
At least 3 years of mechanic experience is required.
Ability to maintain a valid driver's license.
Experience operating equipment is required.
Ability to communicate clear, concise verbal and written messages.
Ability to present a professional image.
Knowledge of safety equipment usage, including automated external defibrillators and fire extinguishers, proper cleaning methods, and safety measures essential to the work environment.
Knowledge of applicable laws, rules, regulations, codes, and statutes related to cleaning agents, environmental and hazardous waste, waste management, and recycling policies and regulations.
Willingness to support the Christian, Catholic, Benedictine mission of the University of Mary.
Support for the ongoing implementation of Ex Corde Ecclesiae, the apostolic constitution on Catholic colleges and universities.
Build a culture of ready and earnest hospitality in the Office of Physical Plant and throughout the university, in accord with Saint Benedict's admonition that all be received as Christ.

Responsibilities

Perform fleet vehicle and equipment maintenance, including preventative maintenance, vehicle and equipment diagnostics, and corrective repairs on all fleet vehicles and equipment.
Perform winter grounds activities, including plowing, ice control, snow blowing, and shoveling, using light and heavy equipment such as plow trucks, skid steers, and dump trucks.
Perform summer grounds activities, including mowing lawns, edging, cleaning up trash, pruning trees and shrubs, fertilizing, installing new planting beds, and seeding.

Desired Qualifications

ASE Master Automobile Technician certification.
Heavy equipment mechanic experience.
Commercial Driver's License (CDL).

Mechanic
The Mechanic ensures that day-to-day operations and events are carried out in a timely, efficient, and effective manner. The Mechanic works in assigned areas to ensure that they are maintained at the highest possible standards.

Essential Roles and Responsibilities Include:
