Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of five years' experience in technical writing and editing.
  • Proficiency in writing and editing technical content; Ability to translate complex information into clear, plain language; Strong attention to grammar, style, and consistency.
  • Excellent communication skills; Ability to work under deadlines and manage multiple tasks; Collaborative working style, particularly with subject matter experts.
Responsibilities
  • Drafting, editing, and finalizing the content of the Regional Cultural Resources Identification Field Guides.
  • Translating technical information into plain language, ensuring clarity, readability, and consistency across all sections of the guides.
  • Collaborating with subject matter experts to ensure the guides are informative and accessible to Farm Service Agency staff with varying levels of expertise.
  • Creating and editing written content for a publication.
  • Focusing on technical documents such as user manuals, white papers, assembly diagrams, and other highly detailed information.
Desired Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree with at least five years of technical writing and editing experience.

  • Other Requirements: Business Tools proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word) and proficient with Adobe Acrobat, data analytic tools, and Visio; ability to quickly learn other tools as necessary.
  • Commitment to work with diverse teams; Curiosity; Humility; Willingness to constantly learn, share, and grow.
