FIGS is looking for a Raw Material Fabric Associate to join the team! This role will collaborate between brand, mills, and suppliers to meet calendar deadlines surrounding fabric sourcing from development through production. We are looking for someone who has a desire to learn, tackles projects with attention to detail and a creative approach, and inspires others with a positive can-do attitude. This position is for someone who wants to jump in headfirst to make an immediate impact and work in a collaborative team environment.
What you’ll be doing:
- Support Fabric Manager and Fabric Senior Associate as needed
- Source, research and develop fabrics originating from global markets and communicate findings to U.S. home office including; yardage availability, costing, lead-times and all required FDS information.
- Work with the design team and Fabric Senior Associate on developing new novelty and core updates for key meetings and seasonal presentations.
- Complete development sheets/send outgoing developments based on Fabric Senior Associate allocation and brand strategy
- Assist Fabric Senior Associate on sustainability initiatives
- Develop and maintain relationships with mills and suppliers to ensure successful business partnerships.
- Organize and maintain fabric development/production WIP and benchmarking tools.
- Work closely with Materials planner to upkeep liabilities library
- Liaise with Fabric Mills for up to date certifications
- Ensure on time delivery of Tailoring, Proto and SMS materials to various production facilities by maintaining fabric WIP reports
- Update all fabric Centric data as needed
- Build Fabric Binders
- Work closely with Color Manager to request and track all seasonal lab dips
- Build and maintain a fabric library of core/new fabrics in the office
- Receive and distribute packages for raw materials team
Qualifications
- 3-4 years of experience in sourcing department
- Strong technical knowledge of fabric, yarn, dyeing, functional finishing processes and its testing & inspection standards
- College degree in apparel/textiles, manufacturing, or related experience
- Ability to build strong relationships & maintain alignment with internal & external, cross functional partners
- Agile and Flexible- must be able to manage multiple projects and problems under time pressure
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Previous experience on activewear/functional fabrics is preferred
FIGS Compensation and Benefits
Pay Range
- At FIGS, your base salary is one part of your total compensation package. This role’s base salary range is between $56,000 and $80,000. Actual base salary is determined based on a number of factors, including but not limited to your relevant skills, qualifications, and years of experience.
