Requirements
  • A PhD in bioinformatics, biology, or a closely related field is required.
  • Experience applying computational methods to biological problems is required.
  • Either prior teaching experience or more than 3 years of course-relevant industry or academic work is required.
  • Proven platform skills are required, along with an open and supportive personal style and willingness to receive assistance and coaching from the faculty lead.
  • Knowledge of Python and/or R programming languages is strongly recommended.
Responsibilities
  • Review and learn key teaching points within existing instructor guides.
  • Prepare lectures based on provided course materials to support high-quality teaching and standards.
  • Facilitate respectful debates and discussions in in-person or online classes.
  • Review and grade assignments promptly, providing appropriate coaching and feedback to students.
  • Connect consistently with students and monitor their performance.
  • Contribute to the program’s curriculum development efforts.
  • Adhere to Northeastern’s policies.
  • Hold office hours as appropriate.
