  • Perform and obtain radiologist approval of preliminary films when needed for specialized examinations.
  • Perform skin-calcification and post-mastectomy views when directed by a radiologist; obtain accurate patient histories; mark and label lumps, moles, and other skin lesions; identify when additional views are warranted; and label films with technical factors for dose evaluation.
  • Instruct patients on American Cancer Society screening mammography guidelines and provide accurate information about the American College of Radiology Accreditation Program and FDA certification.
  • Contact patients for additional views when requested by a radiologist, communicating professionally, accurately, and courteously.
  • Bill patient examinations using the DMI system or downtime requisitions, and enter data into department software to track room utilization and staffing needs.
