Requirements
  • An Associate’s Degree in a related field and/or five years of experience in developmental disabilities or related supervisory/management experience in a residential setting.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite and Windows.
Responsibilities
  • Promote the independence and self-determination of individuals through person-centered practices focused on their strengths, preferences, and needs.
  • Manage individuals’ holistic healthcare, nutrition, and wellness, including tracking appointments and communicating with the CMS, nurse, relevant doctors, and managers.
  • Coordinate recreation and community activities that promote individuals’ participation and independence.
  • Implement, evaluate, and provide feedback on individual-specific care plans and protocols established by the team.
  • Encourage individuals’ independence and promote relationship building within the community and with natural supports.
  • Manage and direct the overall flow of the shift, including assigning staff to appropriate individual ratios.
  • Supervise DSPs and Shift Supervisors while providing continual coaching and mentoring.
  • Model behaviors that support individuals’ independence and aspirations.
  • Inform DSPs about organizational policies, procedures, regulatory requirements, and incident management reporting.
  • Collaborate with trans-disciplinary team members, including registered nurses, Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professionals, and the Program Director, to determine solutions for supporting individuals’ needs.
  • Ensure health and safety requirements are observed and maintain a stimulating, comfortable physical environment.
  • Coordinate transportation activities for the residence to facilitate participation in recreational activities and medical appointments.
  • Manage individuals’ personal property and access to personal items.
  • Participate in admission and discharge reviews with the clinical team and make recommendations to the Program Director.
  • Conduct monthly fire evacuation drills involving all staff members at the residence.
  • Optimize use of available resources, including managing the distribution and reconciliation of petty cash funds.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory agencies within mandatory time frames.
  • Support the organization’s mission, vision, and values.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by the Program Director or designee.
Desired Qualifications
  • AMAP, SCIP-R, CPR, and First Aid certifications are preferred but not required; on-the-job training is provided.
  • Behavior Technician training is preferred.
