Requirements
  • One to two years of experience in a related function.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • A valid driver's license, adequate personal-vehicle insurance when applicable, and a safe driving record are required.
  • Applicants must be at least 21 years of age, have maintained a valid United States driver's license for at least six months, and pass a driver's screening background check.
  • CPR certification is required within two weeks of hire.
  • First Aid certification is required within two weeks of hire.
  • Safety Care certification is required within 90 days of hire.
  • MAP certification is required within 150 days of hire.
  • NET certification is required.
  • Knowledge of empowerment and self-advocacy techniques, applied behavioral analysis with special-needs populations, advocacy techniques, communication styles, formal and informal assessment practices, physical personal-management skills, independent-living management skills, crisis-intervention techniques, community resources and employment opportunities, and documentation requirements.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team; provide a positive role model; perform physical activities including standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, climbing, and lifting at least 25 pounds; operate computers and office equipment; assist clients with activities of daily living; and communicate with clients, staff, and external representatives.
  • Specific vision abilities including close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception, as well as the ability to adjust focus.
Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement individual service plans, person-centered service plans, and recommended plans with an emphasis on community employment.
  • Manage daily operations in the workroom, facility, and community employment settings.
  • Manage all aspects of employment training, contract work, program maintenance, and community employment.
  • Participate in developing individual service plans, person-centered service plans, and vocational profiles for persons served.
  • Manage a caseload of persons served and remain responsible for their progress.
  • Monitor and evaluate clinical, educational, and vocational or employment programs, recommending or implementing changes for continuous improvement.
  • Collect specific data, analyze it bimonthly, assess the results, and propose changes to rehabilitation interventions and teaching strategies as needed.
  • Meet monthly with the interdisciplinary team to review treatment and educational and vocational or employment goals.
  • Work directly with persons served individually and in groups to develop their skills.
  • Supervise the activities of Job Coach I staff and assist with training new staff, relief staff, and interns.
  • Provide training and development activities as needed.
  • Complete monthly progress notes and semiannual or annual assessments for persons served.
  • Maintain the physical upkeep of the program area and monitor needed supplies and equipment.
  • Ensure equipment is used, cleaned, and stored appropriately.
  • Advocate for persons served in all areas.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
