What Ripple does: Ripple provides enterprise blockchain-enabled financial services that speed up payments and improve cash management. How it works: its platform, built on blockchain and cryptocurrency, enables real-time settlement, liquidity management, working-capital access, and instant payments for financial institutions, enterprises, and governments, including the ability to source crypto assets and manage treasury via a single platform. How it differs: it focuses on scalable, secure CBDC implementations and government partnerships (e.g., Palau) to deliver central-bank-grade digital currencies, alongside proven faster remittances and lower costs from clients like Nium and Tranglo. Its goal: help clients move money faster, more transparently, and at lower cost, while expanding access to digital currencies and CBDCs.

How the ripple-settlemint deal could change institutional crypto. September 2, 2026 Bitcoin general Positive Ripple and SettleMint are joining forces to deliver an integrated platform combining digital asset custody, tokenization infrastructure, and compliance tooling specifically designed for regulated financial institutions, a move that could reshape how banks and asset managers approach institutional crypto adoption. The partnership targets one of the most persistent friction points in enterprise blockchain deployment: the fragmented reliance on multiple third-party providers for token issuance, regulatory compliance, settlement, custody, and asset servicing. By consolidating these functions, Ripple and SettleMint aim to lower operational complexity and cost for institutions exploring real-world asset tokenization and XRP Ledger-based settlement rails. The deal arrives at a critical moment for institutional blockchain adoption, as global regulators push forward with digital asset frameworks and major financial players race to tokenize everything from bonds to real estate. Ripple (XRP), which recently resolved its long-running SEC legal battle and expanded its stablecoin RLUSD footprint, is aggressively positioning itself as the infrastructure backbone for compliant institutional digital asset markets. SettleMint's no-code blockchain development platform adds rapid deployment capabilities that could accelerate time-to-market for banks piloting tokenized asset programs. For XRP investors and institutional crypto watchers, this integration signals Ripple's continued push beyond payments into broader financial market infrastructure. Watch for announcements of specific banking or asset management clients adopting the combined Ripple-SettleMint stack as a signal of real-world institutional traction. Ripple and Settlemint are combining digital asset custody and tokenization tools for regulated financial institutions. The integration could reduce reliance on separate providers for issuance, compliance, settlement, custody, and ongoing asset servicing.
RLUSD tops $2B with more than $1B issued on XRP Ledger. September 1, 2026 Ripple's RLUSD stablecoin has reached a $2 billion market cap, with nearly half of that on XRP Ledger. This major milestone comes less than two years after its launch. Jack McDonald, Ripple's Senior Vice President of Stablecoins, shared the news on X while discussing RLUSD's latest July report. He said more than $1 billion worth of RLUSD has been issued on the XRP Ledger (XRPL) alone. McDonald said the market cap isn't everything, but the milestone is still worth celebrating because of RLUSD's rapid growth. Ripple is also expanding RLUSD beyond trading, aiming to use it for payments, settlements, and credit in tokenized financial markets. RLUSD expands into tokenized assets. Notably, Ripple has invested in ZILO and Licuido to help expand digital financial infrastructure on the XRP Ledger. The company wants RLUSD to be used as the dollar-based payment asset for transactions involving tokenized assets. This would make RLUSD more useful to banks and other financial institutions as they use blockchain to represent assets like securities and funds. The move also adds more value to the XRP Ledger. RLUSD can be used for dollar-based payments, while XRP continues to support other activities on the network. Bybit RLUSD program passes $50M milestone. RLUSD is also growing on crypto exchanges. McDonald said Bybit reached more than $50 million in RLUSD deposits through its Hold & Earn program in just 11 days. Bybit has since launched a second phase of the program, offering higher rewards on XRP and RLUSD with Ripple. The fast growth shows that more users are interested in earning rewards with RLUSD, which could help increase its use in the crypto market. Ripple targets institutional lending. Ripple is also working to use RLUSD for business lending. The company has partnered with Clearpool and Cicada Credit to build lending services on the XRP Ledger. RLUSD will be used for loans to fintech companies, payment companies, and other businesses. This initiative makes RLUSD more useful beyond payments and crypto trading. In simple terms, RLUSD is becoming more than just a digital version of the U.S. dollar; it is being used in different financial services. Real-world use in Kenya. Ripple is also using RLUSD in real-world financial services in Kenya through a project with MC Social Venture, BlockBima, and Fortune Credit. The project uses RLUSD to help small businesses get insurance and loans more easily. Ripple says the project reduced settlement time by 97% and cut costs by about 3,000 times. Ultimately, RLUSD reaching a $2 billion market cap is a major milestone, and Ripple is now expanding its use beyond crypto exchanges into lending, tokenized assets, and financial services in emerging markets. More than $1 billion of RLUSD has been issued on the XRP Ledger, which increases activity and liquidity on the network and may benefit XRP. Ripple and SettleMint have partnered to offer financial institutions in Asia Pacific an integrated solution for digital asset custody and tokenisation. The partnership combines Ripple Custody's institutional-grade infrastructure with SettleMint's Digital Asset Lifecycle Platform (DALP), enabling regulated institutions to issue, manage, and operate digital assets through a single platform rather than multiple vendors. The solution addresses growing institutional demand for digital assets. A May 2026 Boston Consulting Group report projects tokenised real-world assets could reach $88 trillion by 2035, warning that traditional banks failing to adapt face potential 30% profit reductions by 2035. The partnership has launched in Asia, with plans to expand to other markets as demand develops.
Ripple and SettleMint partner to provide digital asset custody and tokenization for financial institutions in Asia Pacific TMCnet News [September 01, 2026] | / | Ripple and SettleMint partner to provide digital asset custody and tokenization for financial institutions in Asia Pacific New integration between Ripple Custody and SettleMint's Digital Asset Lifecycle Platform gives regulated financial institutions a single, connected foundation to issue, manage, and operate digital assets across their full lifecycle. SINGAPORE, Sept. 1, 2026 /PRNewswire/ - Ripple, the leading provider of blockchain-based enterprise solutions across traditional and digital finance, and SettleMint, a global leader in Digital Asset Lifecycle Management, have announced today a strategic partnership offering regulated financial institutions a unified solution to custody, issue, and manage tokenized assets across their full lifecycle. The partnership integrates Ripple Custody, Ripple's institutional-grade digital asset custody infrastructure, and SettleMint's DALP (Digital Asset Lifecycle Platform). Ripple Custody provides institutional-grade digital asset custody infrastructure and has continued to expand its capabilities over the past year through new partnerships with Securosys and Figment, integration with Chainalysis, and the acquisition of Palisade, simplifying procurement and giving banks, fintechs and corporates a faster, less complex way to secure digital assets, stablecoins and real-world assets. In parallel, SettleMint's DALP offers an institutional-grade, entirely composable digital asset lifecycle platform, designed for regulated financial institutions, market infrastructure operators, and sovereign entities. DALP is already in use across production and pre-production programmes with institutions in North America, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia Pacific, and provides these institutions the ability to design, issue, and manage tokenized real-world assets. Unlike point solutions that only handle token creation, DALP serves as a unified, governed control plane that manages the entire lifecycle of an asset post-launch. Issuance, compliance, custody, settlement, and servicing are managed on a single platform, without multi-vendor assembly, without reconiliation gaps, and with a controlled transition from pilot to production. The combination of Ripple's custody solution and SettleMint's DALP platform means an institution can hold and manage digital assets in a regulated, compliant and safe way across the full lifecycle through one integrated solution, instead of operating across separate vendors for custody, issuance, compliance and servicing. This includes compliance and permissioning controls required by heavily regulated institutions. Ripple and SettleMint have already commenced their partnership offering in Asia and plan to extend this to other markets as institutional demand develops. The integration of digital assets and tokenized financial products has become essential for the future of banking and the traditional financial sector. In Boston Consulting Group's report, "The Future of Digital Assets," published in May 2026, the firm identifies the shift toward digital assets as a fundamental restructuring of financial infrastructure, projecting that tokenized real-world assets could reach $88 trillion by 2035. The report warns that traditional banks failing to adapt to this digital shift face a potential 30% reduction in profits by 2035. The report also noted that banks can leverage tokenized products to transition from traditional intermediation to infrastructure orchestration, creating new revenue streams through tokenized funds, automated collateral mobility, and advanced custody solutions. Fiona Murray, Managing Director, Asia Pacific at Ripple, said: "Financial institutions across Asia Pacific are putting digital assets to work. They are asking how to do more without stitching together separate solutions for custody, issuance and governance. This partnership gives them the foundation to roll out digital assets and future-proof them from there: Ripple Custody to hold and govern the asset, and SettleMint to manage its entire lifecycle." "Global capital markets are moving fully on-chain, and that shift only works when digital asset custody and lifecycle management operate as one system rather than two," said Adam Popat, CEO of SettleMint. "Combining Ripple Custody and DALP gives institutions that single foundation, and this partnership lets us bring it to regulated markets globally." About SettleMint SettleMint, headquartered in Leuven, Belgium, with offices in the UAE, Singapore, and Japan, is the company behind DALP, the entirely composable Digital Asset Lifecycle Platform. DALP enables financial institutions, market infrastructure operators, and governments to build, deploy, and manage digital assets and blockchain applications at scale.
