About the job
- A bachelor's degree in Education, Child Development, or a closely related field is required.
- At least two years of experience providing academic tutoring, teaching, or similar instructional support, specifically with elementary-aged youth in group environments.
- Must be available to work strictly in person at the designated school site.
- Must clear an FBI-DOJ background check taken in person.
- Must provide a negative TB test result.
- Must be able to make learning fun and interactive, with tutoring focus often determined by student questions and comments.
- Must be comfortable working in a classroom setting.
- Must have verbal and interpersonal communication skills to connect with children, parents, and school staff.
- Deliver academic tutoring and enrichment to small groups of K-6 students.
- Implement age-appropriate lessons and activities reinforcing reading, writing, and mathematics.
- Maintain a positive, organized, and encouraging classroom environment that keeps young learners focused and motivated.
- Monitor student progress, adapt instruction to meet group learning needs, and provide constructive feedback.
- Work closely with school-site coordinators and classroom teachers to align tutoring efforts with the current school curriculum.
- A current teaching credential or active enrollment in a teacher-preparation program is preferred.
- Previous tutoring or teaching experience is highly preferred.
