Responsibilities
  • Provide customer service by helping customers find power equipment products that match their applications and needs.
  • Engage customers in conversations to understand their needs, preferences, and budget constraints using the customer engagement model.
  • Assist customers throughout the retail financing process and ensure all requirements are met before releasing a tractor.
  • Manage orders for power equipment for store stock and customer special orders.
  • Assist with receiving, moving, and displaying power equipment products.
  • Follow the Indoor Merchandising Guide to set and maintain products according to company standards.
  • Conduct power equipment demonstrations when necessary.
  • Assist customers in locating items and recommend suitable alternatives when products are unavailable.
  • Listen to customer concerns, address questions or issues promptly, provide resolutions, and escalate matters to a supervisor when required.
  • Collect customer contact information for follow-up regarding product availability, customer orders, and new products.
  • Establish and maintain long-term customer relationships to generate repeat business and referrals.
  • Provide product knowledge and advice regarding power equipment, live animals, heating, fencing, batteries, lawn care, pools, and related products.
  • Explain product features, benefits, and technical specifications and conduct product demonstrations as necessary.
  • Use upselling and cross-selling techniques to maximize sales and increase average transaction value.
  • Promote exclusive offers and awareness of the store loyalty program.
  • Process special orders, operate the point-of-sale register, and resolve return issues as needed.
  • Collaborate with team members to achieve sales targets and contribute to store performance.
  • Participate in training and remain current on product knowledge, sales techniques, company policies, and procedures.
  • Contribute to visual merchandising by zoning product displays, maintaining signage, and keeping the sales floor clean and attractive when not assisting customers.
  • Work outdoors in heat, cold, rain, snow, and wind depending on location.
  • Participate in cross-training for flexibility across departments and responsibilities.
  • Participate in training programs, workshops, and webinars to acquire knowledge and refine skills.
  • Provide friendly, proactive, and professional internal and external support by addressing inquiries, concerns, and issues promptly.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Company President Alex Melvin said the campus will be located north of Illinois 16 and west of Interstate 57 in the area of the interchange. It will include the company's headquarters, a flagship store and a separate events center that will seat up to 1,500. The tenth annual Tour de Charleston is set to offer bicycle races for all ages and other festivities on Saturday, June 13.
