Requirements
- Knowledge of treatment plant processes and procedures, city and department policies and procedures, work safety principles and practices, and data acquisition and records preparation principles.
- Skills in operating and maintaining job-related tools and equipment, inspecting plant processes and recording related data, operating assigned vehicles, and communicating orally and in writing.
- At least one to two years of experience in a related field.
- Possession of a valid driver's license.
- A high school diploma or GED is required.
- Satisfactory completion of a background check, drug test, and pre-employment physical is required.
Responsibilities
- Perform technical duties in the maintenance and repair of a water or wastewater treatment plant.
- Assist with the maintenance and repair of plant equipment and perform preventive and corrective maintenance.
- Assist with preparing and maintaining maintenance records.
- Assist with modifying and installing equipment and parts.
- Monitor plant observations and report malfunctioning equipment to a supervisor.
- Operate a filter press.
- Operate a front-end loader and other equipment as needed.
- Cut grass and maintain plant grounds.
- Assist in rebuilding system books.
- Clean and maintain plant tanks.
