About the Job

Requirements

  • A degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and at least 8 years of prior relevant experience are typically required, unless prohibited by local laws or regulations.
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Python, MATLAB, Shell, and/or Perl.
  • Experience with government or industry modeling and simulation tools, including Advanced Framework for Simulation, Integration, and Modeling (AFSIM), One Semi-Automated Forces (OneSAF), Brawler, Systems Tool Kit (STK), or similar tools.
  • An active and transferable U.S. government-issued Secret security clearance is required before the start date. U.S. citizenship is required because only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with a team, receive input from programs, external customers, or team experts, and determine, develop, and implement analytic approaches that generate supporting data for programmatic decisions.
  • Participate in developing and implementing model-based solutions for mission trade studies using mission- and engagement-level simulations, ensuring they meet defined requirements and performance.
  • Develop and integrate variable-fidelity computer models and simulations that capture system and system-of-systems effects in complex threat environments.
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to ensure customer satisfaction and business alignment.
  • Evaluate end-to-end system needs to identify system interfaces and data-connectivity requirements across the kill chain.
  • Model system and mission kill chains using government, commercial, and Raytheon simulations.
  • Develop metrics and results products that communicate the chain of events leading to an action.
  • Implement algorithms to provide next-generation performance across the system of systems.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with software development, object-oriented design, C/C++, and/or Java in Unix or Linux operating environments.
  • Experience with the Department of Defense, Intelligence Community, mission areas such as Space, Air, or Land, or systems such as radar and electro-optical and infrared sensing systems.
  • Experience providing briefings and presentations to internal or external stakeholders or customers.
  • An active Top Secret clearance.
  • Experience with Military Operations Analysis, Modeling and Simulation, and/or data analysis and visualization.

About the Company

RTX

Manufactures jet engines, avionics, missiles

RTX operates in aerospace and defense with three main units: Pratt & Whitney jet engines, Collins Aerospace avionics and flight systems, and Raytheon defense systems. Jet engines provide thrust for commercial and military aircraft, avionics manage cockpit controls and navigation, and Raytheon builds missiles, radar, and sensing platforms. It differentiates itself by offering an integrated, end-to-end portfolio across both commercial aviation and national defense under one corporate roof, built on the legacy of Raytheon and UTC. Its goal is to help customers fly more efficiently and protect nations by advancing propulsion, electronics and defense tech for civilian and security needs.
