  • Visual and auditory acuity are required for information retrieval and computer monitor use.
  • A current New Jersey Basic Life Support certification is required.
  • Weekend, holiday, and rotating shifts are required.
Responsibilities
  • Assist the clinical team with indirect patient care and nonpatient-care responsibilities.
  • Turn over operating rooms by removing trash, cleaning all areas including the operating-room table, making up the table, and mopping the floor.
  • Gather equipment, supplies, and instrumentation for surgical cases.
  • Change operating-room tables when necessary.
  • Set up the entire operating room for the next case or first case of the day, including making the bed and positioning the necessary equipment appropriately for the case.
  • Take specimens to the laboratory.
  • Return items to Central Sterile Processing and put away returns stored in the upstairs operating room.
Desired Qualifications
  • Acute-care hospital experience, such as experience as a nursing assistant, unit secretary, or patient care services worker.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
