Requirements
- A minimum lifting capacity of 20 pounds is required.
- The role requires pushing, bending, stooping, upward reaching, manual dexterity, hearing, writing, and typing.
- A minimum pulling capacity of 20 pounds is required.
- The employee must have comprehensive knowledge of all hotel departments and functions.
- The employee must have comprehensive knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local health, safety, and legal regulations.
- Exceptional mathematical and computer skills are required.
- High school education and relevant training and experience are required.
- The ability to timely obtain any required licenses or certificates is required.
- CPR training is required.
Responsibilities
- Book all social catering functions in accordance with established hotel goals and the annual budget to reach expected revenues.
- Develop a target sales and marketing plan focused on social and meeting catering functions, including sales calls, site visits, and prospecting for future relationships.
- Assist with the development of banquet menus.
- Participate in 30-, 60-, and 90-day banquet forecasting.
- Coordinate in-house sales promotions and associate functions.
- Greet clients upon arrival.
- Facilitate and communicate catering-function details to management.
- Maintain professionalism in problem situations.
- Maintain detailed records of guest discussions, including meeting setups, food and beverage details, and related information.
- Upsell to improve revenue generation on the property.
- Remain readily available during functions for consultation with clients.
- Maintain a flexible schedule to accommodate client needs.
- Preside over conference planning meetings where group-coordination details are discussed and reviewed by management.
- Participate in site reviews.
- Conduct exit interviews with clients to solidify repeat business and distribute the results.
- Participate in preparing the annual hotel budget.
- Respond to and resolve guest requests, complaints, and questions in a courteous and timely manner.
Desired Qualifications
- Additional education is preferred.
- First aid training is preferred.
- Additional language ability is preferred.
