Requirements
- Current Pennsylvania Nursing Assistant Certification is required.
- A high school diploma, GED, one to three months of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
Responsibilities
- Remain flexible and adaptable to changing processes, assignments, and workloads.
- Use a person-centered care approach when providing services to residents.
- Assist in guiding newly hired Nursing Assistants and Resident Care Assistants using proper procedures and protocols.
- Demonstrate clinical knowledge and skills within the Certified Nursing Assistant scope of practice.
- Respond promptly to call bells and intercom systems to address resident needs.
- Assist residents with bathing, dressing, grooming, nail care, shaving, and other personal care needs.
- Toilet residents according to schedule and as needed.
- Transport residents and assist with ambulation while following proper wheelchair safety practices.
- Take and record resident vital signs, pulse oximetry readings, height, weight, and showers in PCC.
- Administer medication, reorder medication, and monitor medication expiration dates as needed.
- Collect specimens as directed by nursing staff.
- Assist with telephone calls, appointment scheduling, transportation arrangements, and gathering documentation for appointments.
- Change bed linens and handle soiled linens and incontinent supplies according to infection control standards.
- Maintain clean and organized resident rooms, spa rooms, and common areas.
- Receive and give shift reports to ensure continuity of care.
- Promptly identify and report skin issues, behavioral concerns, medical concerns, or changes in resident condition to the nurse.
