Requirements
  • Previous dispatch experience is a plus.
  • Excellent organizational skills are required.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment is required.
Responsibilities
  • Review and prioritize region-specific vehicles through the OVISS system for dispatching.
  • Independently dispatch vehicles in a timely manner using available resources, including Central Dispatch, OVISS Report Writer, and Microsoft Office, while obtaining the best possible margin.
  • Manage and maintain carrier relationships to encourage repeat carrier usage and accountability.
  • Address issues arising during the dispatch process with the manager to meet or exceed customer expectations.
  • Remain accessible to management after normal business hours as needed to conduct business and service accounts or carriers.
  • Keep pricing and customer-rate or carrier-rate information confidential in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Accept ownership of new or different requests and identify opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
  • Identify opportunities for team improvement and bring ideas to the supervisor for review and implementation.
  • Dispatch vehicles in an order that meets customers' on-time service requirements.
Desired Qualifications
  • A college degree is preferred.
  • Self-motivation is preferred.
