Requirements
  • Proven ability to build strong relationships with clients, carriers, and internal partners
  • In-depth knowledge of carrier processes, plan designs, funding arrangements, and stop-loss contracts
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Comfortable working both independently and as part of a collaborative team
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Minimum of 5+ years of underwriting experience with a health and welfare carrier or brokerage, supporting employer groups of 100+ lives
Responsibilities
  • Analyze carrier renewals and manage ongoing carrier interactions
  • Review proposals and underwriting materials for accuracy and completeness
  • Review and analyze claims reports; oversee claims reporting for self-insured clients
  • Develop self-insured budgets, including premium equivalent rate calculations
  • Prepare fully insured pre-renewal projections and financial models
  • Participate in pre-renewal and renewal strategy meetings with internal teams and clients
  • Conduct ad hoc claims and utilization analyses as needed
