Requirements
  • Food Safety Level 2, or the ability to achieve it upon appointment.
  • A Health and Safety qualification.
  • Basic Control of Substances Hazardous to Health knowledge.
  • Customer care and customer service experience, preferably in a catering environment.
  • The ability to communicate positively and confidently about Somerset Larder to consumers and clients.
  • Problem-solving ability, including the ability to work around short-notice hurdles.
  • The ability to use and understand cash, cash handling, electronic point-of-sale, and cashless systems.
  • Successful applicants must provide a three-year employment history and five-year address history to work on Hinkley Point C.
  • Applicants must provide in-date photographic identification and proof of the right to work in the United Kingdom so that security clearance can be obtained for work on a nuclear-regulated site.
Responsibilities
  • Serve meals, snacks, and drinks, including taking payments.
  • Clean all equipment, crockery, and cutlery as required.
  • Help build made-to-order sandwiches and plates from the service line.
  • Handle food in accordance with the standards specified in the Food Safety and Quality Management System.
  • Receive deliveries and check supplier invoices in accordance with company systems and procedures.
  • Comply fully with food safety, health and safety, and company policies.
  • Complete all compliance and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points paperwork accurately and on time.
  • Coordinate with the front-of-house team member to ensure smooth and friendly service.
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment.
  • Work on the till and servery, plate food from the line, take orders, process payments, and serve customers.
Desired Qualifications
  • Previous large-catering experience.
  • Previous responsibility for stock and cash-management control.
