Requirements
  • Must be at least 21 years of age at the time of employment.
  • One to two years of kitchen operations experience is required.
  • A valid Food Manager Certification is required.

  • Candidates must be able to stand for up to four hours at a time and move around the store while directing class participants, selling to customers, and retrieving merchandise.
  • Candidates must be able to perceive and differentiate flavors and odors and identify specific tastes or scents.
  • Candidates must be able to grab, reach, push, pull, bend, stoop, kneel, and crouch to demonstrate techniques and retrieve or replenish merchandise or equipment.
  • Candidates must be able to use their hands to chop, whisk, slice, stir, juice, and demonstrate other culinary techniques.
  • Candidates must be able to lift or move merchandise weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Candidates must be able to ascend and descend ladders to retrieve or move merchandise.
  • Candidates must be able to operate a computer, point-of-sale system, keyboard, merchandise scanner, and mouse.
  • Candidates must be available to work 12 to 16 hours per week with a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Regular and predictable attendance is required, with flexibility to adjust class assignments based on demand.
  • Candidates must be able to work in a variable kitchen environment involving open flames, hot surfaces, temperature variations, and physical or airborne food allergens.
Responsibilities
  • Represent the company's brand and culture by creating memorable, educational experiences that inspire repeat visits and customer loyalty.
  • Deliver in-store culinary experiences focused on pastry and baking classes while following provided recipes and game plans to ensure consistency and quality.
  • Communicate technical concepts and advanced pastry skills clearly and accessibly.
  • Maintain expertise by staying current on products, participating in available training, and independently seeking additional resources.
  • Drive sales by upholding kitchen standards, encouraging second-class sign-ups, and promoting retail items used or featured in classes.
  • Achieve class revenue goals through high enrollment, positive reviews, and guest return rates.
  • Meet culinary program goals through classes that drive customer engagement and sales.
  • Set up and break down classes, including organizing mise en place, preparing ingredients, and cleaning workstations.
  • Clean and sanitize dishes and equipment promptly.
  • Restock, organize, and maintain kitchen supplies and tools.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety standards, local health codes, and sanitation regulations.
  • Handle tools, ingredients, and kitchen equipment properly to maintain a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Maintain accurate inventory levels, minimize shrink, and control supply and culinary expenses.
  • Handle liquor, wine, and beer in accordance with state and location alcohol regulations and company policies, including enforcing age restrictions when applicable.
  • Ensure store safety and cleanliness and address maintenance needs promptly.
  • Accurately record time worked in accordance with company policy and applicable wage and hour laws.
  • Model and ensure adherence to company policies and standard operating procedures.

  • A degree in culinary arts is preferred; extensive culinary experience and demonstrated technical proficiency may be considered in lieu of formal education.
